If you practice yoga, chances are you’ve been told at one point or another to focus on your third eye. This chakra is the 6th spinning vortex of energy within your etheric body. It’s the energy center that allows self-awareness, a clear vision of how things really are and eventually leads to illumination. A clear, vibrant and open 6th chakra is an essential part of a balanced relationship with a solid spiritual foundation.
In your physical body, your third eye is associated with your pituitary and pineal glands, which are responsible for regulating sleep, reproduction and your immune system. They also help govern your blood pressure and mental health—two things that can be directly affected by interactions with other people, especially the people closest to you.
In this article, we’ll focus on what a relationship looks like when two people come together with healthy, fully open third eye chakras. We’ll also look at symptoms of imbalanced 6th chakras in relationship, and then provide some simple things you can do to heal your third eye, bringing more intuition, clarity and higher awareness into your love life.
What does a healthy third eye chakra relationship look like?
People whose third eye chakras are open have easy access to their intuition. Whether they’ve reached illumination or are still moving toward it, these people have a deeper understanding of reality and the nature of the human condition. They tend to be unflappable and feel good to be around because of their relaxed personality. It isn’t that they don’t care. They see things from a wider perspective (the bigger picture) and understand that everything is unfolding the way it needs to; they know through personal experience, that all in existence is connected, and that we are all extensions of divine source energy. These people don’t worry because they know that all will work out for the greater good and that is truly enough.
People with open 6th chakras carry this attitude into their relationships. They are blessed with an easy confidence that all of their needs will be met, and flow effortlessly with the consistently amazing opportunities that present themselves. Following clear intuition, healthy third eye people find fulfillment, joy and love arising from within, so don’t need to look to their partners for these things. Third eye couples are often spiritual teachers and guides because they have found a sense of wholeness and connection with spirit that many of us are still seeking.
These couples have no need to argue. They meet all of their needs, either together, or separately, and are perfectly secure in their ability to stand together or on their own two feet.
Other benefits that come with a clear third eye chakra include:
- Emotional intelligence
- Lucid dreaming
- Higher knowing
- Manifestation comes easily
- Perceiving underlying reality
- Ability to form clear mental images
- Seeing your place in the cosmic order
How can a blocked third eye chakra affect your relationship?
Researchers have found a correlation between a blocked 6th chakra and a calcified pineal gland. When the pineal gland (located in the center of the brain) is taken over by calcification, it doesn’t function as well. This is caused by the many toxins we ingest and inhale as part of living in this modern world, and affects us physically, mentally and spiritually.
People with blocked third eye chakras may have problems sleeping at night. If your 6th energy center is blocked, you may have trouble feeling elevated emotions like joy and gratitude. You may feel cut off from your higher self and feel disconnected, left adrift. Mental confusion and indecisiveness can be problematic in relationship with someone who relies on you. Frequent headaches can cause disturbance in your quality of life together. An inability to listen to your mate, or remember information that is important to them (and you as a couple) can cause frustration.
Other ways an imbalanced third eye chakra can affect you and your relationship include:
- Lack of intuition
- Fear of judgment
- Mental haziness
- Poor memory
- Inability to focus
- Inability to change
- Lack of concentration
- Feeling detached from life
Improving your relationship through healing your third eye chakra.
Fortunately, there are things that you can do to clear this energy center. To heal your third eye chakra means you also need to heal your pineal gland. When you heal your pineal, you become a clearer receiver, which means stronger intuition and the ability to connect to your spiritual self and to others around you—including your lover.
Decalcify your pineal gland: your pineal gland is responsible for creating melatonin, which helps you sleep, and also converts to serotonin—the natural feel-good drug in your body. This leads to more ease and joy in your body, mind and your relationship. Read more about healing your third eye chakra and decalcifying your pineal gland here.
Visual meditations with ChakraLands Intuition Oil: creating clear mental pictures is a highly effective way to realize your dreams, including manifesting just the right lover for you. Healing your pineal will boost your ability to visualize clearly, because this gland takes in light and turns it into brain pictures. It also allows you to send out light from within your head when you close your eyes and see things with your mind’s eye. Tune into guided visual meditations online or through your spiritual community until you get the hand of visualizing on your own.
Journaling: journaling is a great way to bring clarity and to find realizations. Begin by writing down your impressions from the day’s experiences. Do your very best to find the silver lining behind every occurrence in your day and write about it. If you see synchronistic events happening—or correlations between events that happened, people you saw or words you heard—be sure to record them, giving every detail the most positive spin you can. When you focus on seeing the divine inner working behind the veil of human experience, your third eye will begin to open, allowing you to see even more.
Painting: if you’ve ever considered painting, now would be the time to try. Take a local watercolor or oil painting class, or buy a few supplies at the arts and crafts store to get started. If you don’t have an idea in mind, just start brushing on colors, allow your hands to take you where they want to, and see what unfolds. Use colors that speak to you and step back often to take in their vibrant healing hues.
Chanting: sound vibration is another great way toopen this center. Try chanting “Aum,” with your thumbs in your ears. Start with a nice clear “ahhhhh,” rounding into the “ohhhhh” and then closing your lips to end the note with “mmmmmm.” With your eyes closed, roll them up to focus internally on the center between your brows, and a few inches back into your head. You may even feel this center vibrating with the chanting.
Tarot Gazing: tarot cards are filled with symbolic imagery that speaks directly to your subconscious mind, and can help clear your pineal gland. Be sure to work with a set that has images that feel good to you, and that personally speak to you in some way. You can place a line of three randomly chosen cards from the deck and simply gaze at the images for 3 – 5 minutes. If any thoughts come to you in this process, record them in your journal.
Asking for guidance: if you have a particular question, pull a facedown tarot card from the deck. Turn it over and gaze at it for a few minutes before closing your eyes and attempting to visualize every detail of the card in your mind’s eye. Now release the image and ask your higher self for guidance on the answer to your question. Both the practice of visualization and the internal asking with a quiet mind helps clarify your third eye chakra.
