Your crown chakra is where you connect with and receive messages from your Higher Self and Divine Consciousness. When this energy center is open, clarity and higher levels of self-mastery result. An ability to sense your place in the cosmic order and know without a doubt that you are an extension of Source energy—that you are divine—brings with it a relaxed confidence that allows you to stop grasping or worrying. It is a balanced 7th chakra that allows you to let go and trust that you are always going to have everything you need to live your purpose here. This includes your choice in partner. Having a sense of knowing beyond faith because you feel plugged in spiritually brings to relationship a confidence and easy flow that allows the partnership to blossom.
In this article we’ll look at what a healthy crown chakra relationship looks like, how this energy center affects partnerships when blocked, and things you can do to heal your 7th chakra, so you can feel more connected to your lover and to all of life.
What does a healthy crown chakra relationship look like?
Couples who have balanced crown chakras have the type of relationship we’re all working toward. They connect on a much more ethereal level that includes unconditional love and acceptance for each other. These couples seem very calm and relaxed. The exude contentment, warmth and openness. They feel good to be around and have a lot of wisdom to share, so are often surrounded by seekers. Many of these couples are spiritual teachers, and can be found running spiritual centers around the world.
They always seem to know the perfect words to say and act with immense compassion—with each other and all of life that surrounds them. People with healthy 7th chakras act with solid integrity because they understand the connection and unity we all share. They’re very in tune with their own higher selves and trust their own intuition as much as they trust each other. A crown chakra couple inspires others who strive to grow their own healthy relationships to model this one, because 7th chakra couples seem perfectly suited for each other. Often, couples whose 7th centers are open and balanced feel that they have each found their soul mate.
Other things people share in a healthy 7th chakra relationship include:
- Deep spiritual connection
- Living for the moment together
- High levels of awareness
- Feelings of unity
- Authentic knowledge
- Sense of completeness
- Transformational energy
- Access to Superconscious communication
- Direct experiences of divinity and illumination
What are symptoms of imbalanced crown chakras in relationships?
When one or both lovers in a partnership have imbalanced crown chakras, there can be a very real disconnect. This couple may feel detached from each other or the world around them. They may believe firmly that what their five physical senses report constitutes all that exists in reality. One partner may believe that there is more to life than meets the eye, while the other believes only what science can prove. If there isn’t room in the relationship for both beliefs to be respected, conflict may arise.
When this energy center is blocked, people have a tendency to spend a lot of time in their heads, allowing their thoughts to run rampant. Complaints may begin to stack up inside their mind and this can lead to finger-pointing, feelings of discontent and arguments. Feeling disconnected from Divine Source energy, they may feel a sense of loneliness and isolation—even within relationship. These people may feel misunderstood, and frequently feel the need to defend their decisions or opinions.
Other ways imbalanced crown chakras can affect relationships include:
- Seeing in terms of “other” vs. self
- Lack of empathy and understanding
- Lacking in accountability
- Lack of common sense
- Cognitive difficulty
- Lack of compassion
What are things you can do to heal your crown chakra?
One of the most effective ways you can go about gently encouraging your crown chakra to open is simply placing your awareness on it for extended and regular periods of time. You’ll find a good crown chakra visualization meditation here.
Find Like Minds and Souls. Go to spiritual centers around the world and spend time with people who are further along the path to enlightenment than you are. Surround yourself with compassionate, encouraging people who love the earth and all of her creatures. Deliberately choose your words for affirming the positive aspects of life, make it a habit to use only loving communication, and spend more time with others who do the same.
Seek Natural Environments. Move into nature as often as possible, allowing yourself the space and time to truly enjoy connecting with the peace and serenity to be found outside the continuous city hum. Leave your electronics outside your bedroom when you retreat to bed at night and make it a priority to get restful sleep.
Become a Clear Channel. Keep your body running clean by including lots of green leafy veggies, citrus and berries, apple cider vinegar and fermented foods in your diet. Limit your caffeine intake and drink soothing and healthful organic teas instead.
Create Sacred Space. If there’s a shade of purple that speaks to you, create a little sacred space somewhere in your home where you can build a little altar that includes your favorite shade/s of purple. Find objects that represent for you the five elements and place them on your altar: earth, air, fire and water (with spirit in the middle). There are a lot of resources online for what to use and where to place them, but find the items that speak to you and which compass direction represents that element from your position on the planet.
Use this space for visualization, meditation and prayer (if you’re so inclined). Be sure to place a fragrant candle or something else that smells divine somewhere in this space. Never use cut flowers as this requires taking their lives.
Open your crown chakras together.
There are activities you can engage in together that will encourage your 7th chakras to open, allowing you to continue on your spiritual journey as a couple. The suggestions above are all good for couples to engage in together or separately, but following are some specific ideas for bonding activities you can do as a couple that will help heal your crown chakras and deepen your commitment to each other.
Meditate together. Sit side by side or facing each other, close your eyes or look at each other with a soft gaze and allow a period of silence. Quiet your minds and allow your breathing to deepen. You can follow a guided meditation together, or simply sit in silence, listening for your own inner teacher.
Get down together. Down Dog is a great pose for awakening your crown chakra. Join a yoga membership and begin a weekly practice as a couple. Other poses that are great for opening this energy center include: fish pose and child’s pose.
Chant together. Nothing helps bring calm and clarity to a busy mind like taking a deep breath and chanting “Om.” You can chant together at home, taking turns with a rise and fall chant of Om, experimenting with different octaves or toning at the same time. Find a local group performing Sanskrit chants, Hare Krishna call and returns or another form of spiritually uplifting chanting, and join in! Feel the high energy in these places and allow them to sweep you up.
Be sure to laugh together frequently as you seek your highest expression of love with each other.
